PEACE OF MIND (also known as “RESPITE CARE”)
Center for Community provides staff to help with daily or weekly in-home care activities such as companionship, light meal preparation, and keeping a person safe while other family members are away from home. This service benefits both the primary client and the primary caregiver who can enjoy some personal time. In some cases, overnight or multiple day respite care can be arranged.

Center for Community can offer chore services including housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and other errands.
PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANCE
Center for Community brings help home to consumers with consumer directed or agency based personal in-home care assistance choices. Personal care is more “hands-on” to assist with personal needs like bathing, grooming, eating, locomotion, as well as laundry, shopping and meal preparation.

The Senior In-Home Grant Program
This is a nursing home diversion program administered by the Department of Health and Social Services that is designed to help individuals who might otherwise require nursing home care to remain living in their homes. The program allows us to provide non-medical services to low income, Alaska residents age 60 and older, who need assistance with activities of daily living or instrumental activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and light housecleaning. The program also provides Respite Care to provide relief for family caregivers.
